Privacy Policy
How michaelvittiglio.com collects and handles personal information.
Last updated April 19, 2026
This is a personal website. I’m Michael Vittiglio, and I run michaelvittiglio.com as a portfolio and resume. There’s no company behind it, no advertising, no user accounts, and nothing for sale. This page explains what data the site touches and what happens to it.
What I collect
When you submit the contact form
The form asks for your name, email address, and message. It’s the only place on the site that asks you for anything.
When you visit a page
Vercel Analytics records the URL you visited, your approximate location (derived from your IP address), the device and browser you used, and which page referred you. It does this without setting cookies and without persistent identifiers — visitor counts are computed using a daily-rotating hash. No personal information is collected by Vercel Analytics.
That’s it.
The site doesn’t use advertising trackers, third-party analytics beyond Vercel, or user fingerprinting.
How I use it
Contact-form submissions are delivered to my personal email so I can reply. I don’t add them to any mailing list, and I don’t share them.
Analytics data tells me which pages get traffic and where visitors come from in aggregate. I use it to decide what to write about and to spot broken pages.
Third parties involved
The site relies on a few outside services. Each handles a narrow slice of data and has its own privacy policy:
- Vercel hosts the site and provides analytics. Their privacy policy.
- Web3Forms processes contact-form submissions and forwards them to my email. Their privacy policy.
- Bluesky — the
/blueskypage reads my public Bluesky feed via Bluesky’s public API. No data about you is sent to Bluesky.
Cookies and local storage
The site doesn’t set cookies. It does use localStorage to remember your light/dark theme preference. That stays in your browser; I never see it.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children under 16. I don’t knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a child has submitted information through the contact form, email me and I’ll delete it.
Links to other sites
The site links to my profiles on LinkedIn, GitHub, Bluesky, and to projects I’ve worked on or written about. Those sites have their own privacy policies. This policy only covers michaelvittiglio.com.
Your rights
If you’ve sent me a contact-form message and want to know what I still have, want it corrected, or want it deleted, just email me at the address below. I’ll handle it within a reasonable time. Visitors in the EU, UK, and California have stronger statutory rights — same email; I’ll honor them.
Changes to this policy
If I change how the site handles data, I’ll update this page and bump the “last updated” date at the top.
